The more people are in on it, greater the chances that some excited being will spill the beans and the harder it will be to control an accidental ruin of surprise.

You really wouldn’t want your beloved to panic about where the big purchase went, or worse, that you have found out.
Obviously, now say absolutely nothing.
The deed’s been done and while you might have even taken a look at what the ring looks like, make sincere efforts to forget about everything that just happened. You don’t know yet when the proposal will happen, so the surprise on your face when the ring is presented to you will still be genuine. But, if you suspect every moment to seem like an impending proposal, you’ll lose it. Also, let’s give the poor beloved his/her moment that they have been planning for so meticulously.
