Every story is a unique representation of love – the meeting, the maturity of the relationship and the journey towards marriage. Two individuals coming together to build a life as one. Despite the hurdles and hiccups along the way, this is their happily ever after. Meet some newly engaged couples, basking in a state of romantic bliss. These loved up pairs have been kind enough to share their proposal stories with 77 World.
Today, we meet a couple from Bournemouth, Will Kay, a sales department manager, and Laura Woolfenden, a sales consultant, who were engaged last year under a Jamaican sunset.
The idyllic spot where Will spontaneously proposed during the couple’s holiday in Jamaica
First meeting: The couple, who has now been together seven years, first met when Will interviewed Laura for a sales position in his company. “Luckily, Laura bagged the job, and unknowingly to us both at the time, her future husband as well,” laughs Will.
She’s the one: The couple say they clicked from day one and have never looked back since. Shares Will, “Over the years, there have been countless times I’ve known she’s the one.”
Proposal: Will proposed spontaneously on a private beach in Jamaica during sunset after sharing a memorable holiday. “I paid one of the locals to build a bonfire for us and requested the local craftsmen to make me a wooden ring from the local beach wood. I hadn’t actually planned to propose to her on this particular holiday – so it was a surprise to us both at the end of a very special two weeks,” shares Will.

The ring: Post proposal, the couple selected Laura’s engagement ring together. “We handpicked a solitaire diamond on a platinum ring that was custom-made for us. After seeing countless diamonds at numerous other jewellers, the quality really stood out at 77 Diamonds, as did the level of service we received. Everyone’s reaction when they see the ring is amazing, Laura feels like a very lucky girl to have her perfect rock!”
Wedding plans: “We’re getting married 8 September 2017 with about a hundred of our closest friends and family at Sopley Mill situated near the New Forest and we can’t wait,” they share.
